Federal Police Decide to Indict Bolsonaro for Illegal Sale of Jewelry and Forging Vaccination Cards

247 - The Federal Police (PF) has formalized the indictment of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in two investigations: the illegal sale of jewelry received as gifts during his term and the forging of Covid-19 vaccination cards. The indictment was completed and will be sent to the Attorney General's Office (PGR), according to Igor Gadelha of Metrópoles.

Besides Bolsonaro, the PF also decided to indict his close allies and advisors. Among the highlighted names are lawyers Fabio Wajngarten and Frederick Wassef and Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, Bolsonaro's former aide-de-camp.

The first investigation refers to the sale of jewelry received by Bolsonaro during official visits abroad. These high-value gifts were sold illegally, violating the rules governing gifts received by public authorities. Documents and testimonies collected by the PF indicate that the jewelry, instead of being delivered to the Presidential Collection, was diverted to Bolsonaro's personal collection and subsequently sold clandestinely.

The second investigation focuses on the forgery of Covid-19 vaccination cards. Bolsonaro, who during his term attacked vaccines, allegedly facilitated or participated in the production and use of fake vaccination cards to circumvent health requirements imposed both nationally and internationally.

However, the PF decided not to request the preventive detention of Bolsonaro and the other individuals involved.
