Lula promises "the greatest partnership" between the federal government and Boulos' administration in São Paulo

247 - During a live session with Congressman Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) on Thursday (3), who is running for mayor of São Paulo, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) declared his unconditional support for the PSOL candidate and emphasized the importance of his candidacy for the city. Lula highlighted the partnership he intends to establish with Boulos, should he be elected, and urged his supporters to vote for him.

“If you are elected, we will build the greatest partnership ever between a municipal government and the federal government. You will have in the Presidency a partner who won’t let anything necessary for improving the lives of São Paulo's people be lacking,” Lula stated, emphasizing the synergy between the federal and municipal administrations.

Lula also recalled Boulos' history of struggle: "I didn’t know Boulos as a candidate. I knew him trudging through mud, fighting for housing rights.” He reinforced that Boulos would govern for all Paulistanos, with special attention to the peripheral communities: “This is the Boulos who will govern for everyone, for the wealthy on Avenida Paulista, but he will prioritize the people from the outskirts.”

The president made a direct appeal to voters: “I want to ask every woman who has voted for me several times, and every man who has voted for me, to vote for Boulos. It's important for people to realize that voting for Boulos is the realization of a dream, for a better, cleaner, more progressive, and greener São Paulo.” Additionally, Lula highlighted the challenges women face in dealing with the city's infrastructure: “The women of São Paulo know what it's like to manage a family while navigating a congested city with poor-quality roads.”

Finally, Lula asked for votes for Boulos “as the realization of a dream” and promised “the greatest partnership” ever seen between a municipal government and the federal government.
