Nexus: 56% of opinion posts support decision to indict Bolsonaro

247 – Nexus – Research and Data Intelligence found that 56% of opinion posts on the social network X regarding the trial of the coup plot were in favor of the Supreme Federal Court’s decision, which indicted Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and seven of his allies. According to the statistics, 44% were against the ruling.

The survey showed that 53% of users celebrated the STF's decision, 42% criticized the outcome of the trial, and 5% of the content was posted in a neutral tone. Considering only the opinion posts, the breakdown was 56% in favor and 44% against.

On Facebook, neutral posts were the majority: 69%. In comparison, 17% supported the indictment and 14% opposed it. Among opinion posts only, the split was 55% in favor and 45% against.

On Instagram, 67% of the content was neutral. Among opinionated posts, 20% supported the decision and 12% were against it, which corresponds to 63% in favor and 37% against, proportionally.

A total of 18,823 posts were collected from X, Facebook, and Instagram. A qualitative analysis was carried out on a sample of 551 posts, which together represented 90% of all interactions generated across the three platforms.
